King of the Road

Have you ever wanted to just take off and see the world? What stopped you? Nothing's stopping Ramon Stoppelenburg. Like many students, Ramon wanted to travel extensively while life still afforded him the opportunity. Also like many students, he lacked the funds to do so. Inspired by the web site Send Me a Dollar, Ramon decided to beg nor for cash, but for places to stay.

Let-Me-Stay-For-A-DayShortly after the March, 2001 launch of his web site Let-Me-Stay-For-A-Day, Ramon received hundreds of invitations to stay at private homes around the world, as well as the admiration (and envy) of Netizens everywhere.

After setting off from his home in Zwolle, The Netherlands on May 1, 2001, Ramon will document his trip via regular updates to his web site. A message board allows friends and fans (and the occasional stick-in-the-mud) to post their opinions, questions, advice and best wishes.

As one message board visitor said, "By travelling the world like this, you are spreading a message of trust and unity. And that's a great thing to do!"

We couldn't put it any better.
