Tulsa's Kite Gypsy

E.W. Redmond is Tulsa's own Kite Gypsy, and the world-record holder for consecutive days of kite flying - as of the Solstice on December 22, 1999, he'd flown for 721 consecutive days. For each flight, E.W. recruits a lucky witness who is presented with that day's kite as a remembrance.

Our gooey has personally witnessed a number of flights (including the Solstice flight, as its number corresponded with her birthday, 7/21) and owns a number of E.W.'s lovely, classic "sperm kites", made of bamboo and crepe paper.

E.W. says the important questions are how fast can you get it up, how high can you get it, and how long can you keep it up? We say, E.W., may you continue to get it up and keep it up for as long as you so desire!
