Halyn the BananaDragon, by Cara Jane Mitten

Cara Jane Mitten is an artist and freelance illustrator who hails from Wisconsin. She has been drawing, painting, and working in various other types of media for most of her life. She hopes one day to be able to support herself with her artwork and continue doing what she loves full-time.

Of this work, Cara Jane says, "Rarely are my drawings what they appear to be at first glance. 'Halyn The Bananadragon' was originally a gift-drawing for a good friend to whom The Dragon has a deeply spiritual meaning. In this small illustration I attempted to utilize techniques such as partial delineation contrasted with exaggerated anatomy, constructing a hybrid creature which symbolizes the weaving together of both physical reality and the unseen."
