About Cherrymagic

Who are we?

We're people of all types, from all walks of life, with all kinds of tastes, kinks, likes and dislikes. We're poets, artists, computer programmers and security guards. We're experts on nothing with opinions on everything. Most of us like beer.

The Staff

gooey gooey got her name from her habit of blasting the folks on M-Player with her syrup-loaded SuperSoaker, and dropping Jell-o Pudding bombs on unsuspecting Doms. She lives in Austin, Texas with her sweetie Chris, and kitty duo Wookie (Wqq) and Puck. Her greatest disappointment was George Bush's election to the presidency, as it means she'll be unable to use her powerful connections to get a job at the state capital. That's okay - she has the kind of voice that will guarantee success as a phone-sex worker.
Mishi Mishi would love to be a professional writer, but she's so painfully in love with her own words that she can't bear to submit them to anyone else. She would also be happy as a film critic, architect, or talk-show host. She lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with three generations of testosterone and works as a web designer and developer with partner Venturi. She always dreams in color.
Venturi Venturi fell in love with gooey and Mishi when he first visited Cherrymagic in October of 1999. His failure to capture both girls made him increasingly bitter, and he took to criticizing the site, pronouncing it "too girly." In an attempt to provide balance, he established the testosterone-laden empire of Venturia, which would have been really cool if he could have got his FrontPage extensions to work. Venturi dreams of being a pilot, photographer, and lesbian; his greatest dream is to be featured as Morningwood Labs' "Dick of the Month."

Contributors

David Basteri David Basteri is a frequent contributor to Tulsa's Infinity Press, the only newspaper in town worth reading. He's been kind enough to share one of his essays with us - we'd love to have more. David has extraordinary hair; or at least he did the last time we saw him. Or did he cut it all off? Hard to remember - we were drunk that night. If you see him, tell him we said "hi."
Steve Jones Steve Jones appeared one day in the bathroom at Mishi's boss' house, and said flattering things about her brother-in-law. They've been pals ever since. When he's not terrorizing farm animals or dressing in lingerie and hanging out at The Rocky Horror Picture show, the heavily-decorated Steve is the bass player for "Gothindustrocowpunk" band, Billy Joe Winghead. He has a really cool digital camera, and was kind enough to take many of the photos of gooey and Mishi that are scattered throughout the site. (Thanks Steve!)
raven Raven is a really cool guy we met in a bar in Tulsa. We like him even though he's Canadian. He says of his poetry, "As you can tell, I have a strange relationship with waking up in the morning."
Zig Zig is the super-secret code name of an Austin, Texas-based graphic artist. It is entirely coincidental that so much of his portrait work bears a striking resemblance to gooey.

What's it about?

It's about a lot of things - and about nothing at the same time. (But not in a Seinfeld kind of way.) It's about living your life as fully as possible so you can enrich the lives of others. It's about taking risks, falling down, and getting up again. It's about sensuality, sexuality and spirituality. It's about being free to be yourself, with all your quirks, kinks and foibles. And it's about stuff we think is neat.

When is the site updated?

That's an excellent question! The site went on hiatus in May of 2002, and we've yet to develop a new schedule. We'll let you know when we know - fair enough?

Where are you located?

Cyberspace, baby! Cherrymagic has no central office. If you feel a dire need to contact us by snail mail, we do have a PO Box, but we only check it about twice a year. We'll give you the number if you ask us nicely.

Why do you do this?

Because it's fun. Because we hope to get important and famous enough to appear on The Daily Show. Because we like to babble. Because we love the way the Internet is shrinking the world, and we want to be a part of it.

How is Cherrymagic going to change the world?

Easy! We're going to bring together such a dense population of like-minded people that revolution will become unnecessary. We're going to educate those who walk the line between fear and acceptance so that tolerance becomes a fact of life. We're going to show the world that "normal" is not, and that most people aren't. We're going to hold the biggest coming-out party you've ever seen, and everyone's invited.

But mostly, we're going to amuse ourselves, and hope you'll join in the fun.

gooey and Mishi, crushing your head
