Another “lite” update, as unemployment has resulted in our being busier than ever. Slowly but surely, our new projects are picking up steam. In the mean time, we’ve received a number of wonderful submissions from our readers and friends. We hope to share some of them with you very soon. (Hey, it’s summer - you should be at the lake or something, not sitting in front of your computer!)

In other news, ListBot has discontinued its free service, so we’ve moved to a cgi mail program hosted on our own server. This frees us from ListBot’s ads, and once we grow the list to a respectable size, we’ll be able to sell advertising space of our own. Then maybe we can stop begging you folks for donations. (Hint, hint.) For those of you who don’t respond to subtlety, TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Ask, beg, plead with them to join our list. You know we don’t spam you, and we won’t spam your friends, either. Honest!

Well, after a day spent arguing with a pesky web host (NOT the one that houses Cherrymagic), we’re too tired to think. There are some bright, perky folk in the forums - help us keep them company!

Until next time, be well!

July 11, 2001

Summer is here with a vengeance. We really can’t complain, considering we made it through June without using the air conditioner. Now we’re sequestered in the office, working our asses off and avoiding the outdoors as much as possible. The veggie gardens are begging for attention. They’re going to have to wait. Until, say, October.

The yard is becoming a jungle as well. We’re surely the scourge of suburbia. We don’t even have any potted petunias out. Just as well - they’d be dead.

My, what an unpleasant little ditty this is! It’s difficult to express the mixed emotions that come with making the choice to free one’s self from the corporate world. It’s terrifying, yet giddy. We are literally weeks from homelessness - yet that sounds less frightening than the prospect of selling out again. Freedom isn’t easy - it’s scary as anything. Yet, it feels good. It feels really, really good. I wish I could give you more. I can only wish you the best.

Catch ya next month, as long as the electricity is still on.
Cheers,
M
