Letting Go

I’m frightened. I’m leaving behind, at least for now, the life I’ve known for a decade. I’m leaving behind a house I helped build, a smart-mouthed parrot, cats I saved, a puppy I raised. I’m leaving a garden that is just now reaching maturity. I’m leaving the familiar golden and green tones of the office where every page of Cherrymagic has come to life, the iris-blue of the bedroom where I’ve slept, the raspberry entry hall that greets me, for better or for worse, each time I leave or return.

I painted this house in colors, in an attempt to bring a subtle joy to a life that too often leans toward the mundane. I filled it with animals, and no matter how they may frustrate me, I love every minute of their company. The gardens are brimming with promise each April, and torn by heat and drought and my own lazy nature by the time July arrives. But each year I have believed that somehow, I’d do better. I’d “finish”.

The bathroom is still in a state of chaos. The tub is still in the living room. The wood floors in the living room stop three-quarters of the way, waiting for this drywall to be replaced, and that imagined window to be installed. Already the gardens are plagued by winter weeds. Xena still hasn’t been trained to leave the trash alone, to stop jumping up on visitors.

I’m leaving so many things undone. Among them, I’m leaving the relationship that has sustained me for one third of my life. The little things, I can mourn so easily. I haven’t the time, the strength, nor the courage to mourn the relationship. Not now. Not yet.

It’s no longer time to think about “finishing”. Right now, it’s about beginning.

Wish me - us - luck.

It’s been a tiring week for all concerned. We lost the Cherry Street house, but gained a groovy place on the river…and the railroad tracks…and the freeway….Hey, it’s bound to be interesting!

We’d love to give you all the news, now, but the truth is, we’re tired. Pooped. Overextended. It ain’t easy balancing free-loving slutdom with upright citizenship.

Do us all a favor: Visit the forums, send some Cherrycards, read our guidelines then submit your work.

Next week, we’ll be so much better. In the meantime, never forget, we depend on you.

gooey in Austin!

Well the goo had all she could take and made arrangements to go to Austin to see her Beautiful Stranger…….well it was quickly becoming anxiety panic attack around 6AM on Saturday morning when i finally didn’t hit snooze….i still had to shave and bathe and get to the airport. The flight i had planned was to depart at 7AM, i was pushing it. I did manage the flight and arrived in Austin at 9:55AM, 15 minutes early and i was able to surprise him.View of Austin (Photo by J. Griffis Smith.)We left the airport after hugs and kisses and stares and feelings of total WHOA. We did some errands and headed off to the best view of the Downtown Austin skyline at the 360 scenic overlook where we hugged and kissed and got 3 honks from passer-byes, then off for lunch at the Shady Grove. This place was a really cozy outside cafe. The weather was perfect and the beers were needed to calm my heart down!

The Sheraton HotelWe left there and went to the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Austin, checked in and started talking and well feeling HAPPY on the 15th floor……*footnote right here*………This wonderful human and i decided Christmas that we would not have intimate love quite yet and we prevailed so far!……SO …we really had a great bonding moment all afternoon……then it was time to change and go out with some of his friends…..i put on my torn-up as hell jeans, tights, metallic panties and a body suit…….i looked GOOD…………..and he had on his jeans and hemp attire……he looked the BEST……..and we went to his house to meet up with the guys! There i met Dan right away in the parking lot in the back of his truck….poor thing had no lighter and no bottle opener for his Moose Head and was jonesin for the damn beer. We luckily were able to open that beer for him. We send Dan out for more beer while we got ready for a smokin good time!!!!! Dan was sweet enough to find my Guinness in a can beer and i at that point knew he was Cherry***

We sat around while Dan played Playstation with my Beauty…He smoked Dan’s ass…anyway Jeff got there and we all went out to look at his new Explorer…..Very nice Jeff!…….when we finally smoked, drank, and played all that we could we went out to Buffalo Billiard’s on 6th street

…..for those of you that have not been to Austin…………..first, i want to say……GO…….second is that 6th street is the central party zone for bar hopping and people watching………….We get there via walking from the hotel while the Dan and Jeff are finding parking. We finally all hook up and go inside for booze and pool……after shots of Jagar i start walking from table to table handing out Cherrymagic business cards and telling everyone to go visit my website^^^^never stop networking^^^^ After about 1 1/2 hours we finally got a pool table, they handed you beepers to tell you when your name is UP….so we played and drank more. I was Beauty’s team mate and well lets just say i was a suckin in pool…….he played FINE! Dan and Jeff after two games was left behind because the goo was ready for bed and well ……IT WAS TIME~!

Austin in living colorNOTE: no you won’t get aaaallllllllllllll the details but what i will say is…….”This man made me feel things i didn’t know i could feel, in places i didn’t know xsisted, with colors that i have never seen before!”

The next morning we had breakfast in bed and talked and well………………….*S* We finally got ready to leave to run some more errands and to go see Jason, his roomie, about going out with us that night. We had some happiness and partaked before we left for lunch and touring. We started out at this little Tex-Mex restaurant called Baby Compadres. It was another day of outside munchin and it was very good food, but they messed up and gave me meat on my dish……ewe……….i is a vegetarian and so this was not right M’Kay? BUT Mr. Beauty was there to save the day and i got another dish with out the flesh…….so after a dos xx and a tecate we were off for a fun filled afternoon of touring the city and shops.

The first stop was a little shop called Megaplexxx, it was the hugest sex shop i have ever seen ….but considering in the big state of Oklahoma we are not allowed to rent hard-core porn or have viewing rooms. We bought Mishi a card and left with plans to return for a viewing room next visit.*NOTE: have any of you gone to Nerve.com? well Lisa Carver, our hero writer, talks about 5th wheel man……….let me say this 5th wheel man was a cutie!!! Her and Dave would have fun fantasizing about him fer sure!!!!!!!!

We went to his favorite head shop PlanetK for a look around and to purchase some incense and candles for ~later~ and then we were off for a drive of the State Capital and the Governors Mansion - wanted to see where George W. did his coke. I was able to see the Plains Commercial and the Art Deco this town had to offer. My baby stopped the street rose vendor and bought me 2 red roses, one for each night i was with him. HE IS THE BEST!!!

The architecture was fabulous and the French influence was very apparent. Also there is alot of Adobe and southwest feel to the houses and there are some that are just breath taking.

A view at Mount BonnellHe remembered something and i was SO impressed when he stopped at a local convenience store for a map so he would have directions. This place he took me was so marvelous and stunning that i felt like i was on top of the world as the sunset. It was called Mount Bonnell, it is an old mill that was flooded out in the 1800’s. The Colorado River is below and well there are some houses built on man made ground that are to die for!!!!! We forgot the camera so he has vowed to take me back for that picture!

We drove back to the hotel it was dark and the lights of the city were bright and inviting. We rested and listened to music and finally i was dressed to kill in my dress and platform heels. We head down to 6th street to meet up with Jason….we walk around and find Leslie first…Leslie is a local that is known for his anti social - anti government attitude, and he stands on the streets with a bikini or somekinda draggy outfit with his anti whatever signs and is a hoot. I was able to have a picture taken with Leslie and will be posting lots of Austin pickies very soon.

Chronicle CoverWe found a cozy little bar called Babes and went in to listen to a corporate pop band as my beauty called them…lol…….they sucked but the bar had a adjoining bar next door that played some HOT blues. Jason and us really dug the band! We drank beer and had more shots of Jagar and then we heard it….we hear the Metal Rock from the bar that just had the suckiest band! Endever…….they rocked……we cheered and yelled and wanted to mosh! After the band was done and the bar was closing we introduced ourselves to Bob the lead singer. His girlie works for the Chronicle, a local Austin live entertainment rag, and i mentioned that i am “THE” Princess of Tulsa and i know people here and she gave me her card and i gave her mine….we were instant friends!!!!!!!!!!!!

We left the 6th street for my Beauty’s place o’business for a roof climb, he works off of 7th street downtown and we got high on the roof^^ for the view(giggles)yeah for the view……….it was breath taking. Then we parted ways with Jason at his truck and walked back to the hotel. After listening to Jim Morrison’s poetry and lighting candles and incense and good bud, we put in NIN and by the time “Perfect Drug” was on we were on our way to heaven~~**^^

The next morning i had to be at the airport by 8AM for my flight and it was a heavy mood. It was sad but inevitable. We parted and well now i am back in front of the screen waiting for the next time my love is in my arms and i am smiling into his eyes………I Love you Chris………

My my my! Things are getting interesting around the Cherrymagic offices these days. There’s love to spare, and we want to share! ‘Cause you know, sharing is caring.

On that note, gooey has plenty to share in her report on her recent trip to Austin, Texas. The goo is head over heels, and it’s rubbing off. Git yourself some while the gittin’s good!

We’ve both been slaving away in our new positions as founding members of a happening new theatre company - more on that as things develop. Speaking of things developing, we hope to have lots and lots of new pikkies, soon. If you haven’t already, check out our New Year’s Eve photos.

Woodcraft Furniture may be going out of business, but Cherrymagic has just begun. We’re looking forward to moving into our beautiful new offices very soon. (Keep your fingers and toes crossed, everyone!) We’ll be conveniently located just down the street from the local massage parlor, and just across from the School of Metaphysics - too cool!

We’ll let you know what’s going on. Anyone want to help us move? We’ll bring the beer. You bring the wine.

In the mean time, kids, remember - stay in touch with your bodies. You never know what you might learn.

Cherry hugs and magic kisses,
gooey & Mishi
